deep beneath the danger's mark.

below the wreckage of my heart.
There are moments, when she wakes and realizes that she is truly alive, truly living – like she never has before, not really – when she realizes that in this place where the air hums and the forests breathe and ocean rises and the sand pulses under her, where horses command the elemental forces of nature, she is real.
She's alive, and she's enjoying herself. Never let it be said that she had not been happy in her home, because she had been. She'd loved her home, loved the ways that she was apart of everything, had friends and family, and yes, even a lover or two.
But, happiness was not enough.
She required fulfillment for her life, and it's here that she's finding it. She feels compelled to explain this to Aelina, as she speaks of her own home. "That's the sea, isn't it?" she asks; "I met Marshall, who's a scholar of there. He's very nice, he needed to compare the difference between the lands. I tried to help him." She's distracted from explaining further by the Fluttercheers, her eyes glowing as she examines the light and wind, and she lifts her head to gently exhale on one of them, curious to see if she could make it move (though, she's careful not to hurt them, light or not).
"I want to grow things!" she says excitedly, "and I've just completed my minor objective, Lebanon of Ni'Srilan named me her friend." And Aelina continues, catching her eye, and she smiles. "I've learned more about myself in a week of living here than I had in years living in my old home. I love it here, it's so much... more," she muses thoughtfully, "than a normal place. There's more power here."
She thinks over what Aelina says about her major objective, and what she says about becoming a teacher. "My major is to become a healer, so I've got to complete two objectives, become a teacher, an ambassador, and then I'll have completed it?"
Again, she thinks, and then asks, tenatively; "What can I do, once I complete my major? Can I choose anything with my associated element, or do I get assigned something?"
Something better occurs to her.
"How can I earn a familiar?"
