She can feel the curiosity flit at the edges of her mind - small flames reminiscent of her daughter; it is the business of two names and she does not often share why that is and cannot dutifully recite that it is tradition for her. Tradition that has been passed along to the daughter she feels in this place; a sense of burning that has never left her even after the foal long stopped nursing and needed less of her tutelage. She felt - and heard - the slight hesitation that made her curious too but they circled strange earth and did not press one another for unshared truths.
Raven smiled; “We never stop learning no matter our age - remember that.” She brushed her lips against the forehead lightly. “Control comes with patience and practice.” She feels they are still on that strange earth - feeling their footing and just learning that it is safe to trust one another. It is familiar - she danced this dance with her own teacher before trusting enough to tell all that she had to tell. From experience, comes wisdom and this is how Raven can say the things she does - how she can know that there are often secrets untold and that it requires a great and patient heart to wait out the opening of another heart.
“I too, was there…” she hardly gives it thought but remembers sand and the brightness of the sun as it hurt her forest-darkened eyes. “Briefly though.” she adds as an afterthought; remembering that her time there was as fleeting as the first snowfall. The sad sigh causes her to momentarily embrace the girl and sympathize - they share that then; mothers here and gone and she remembers that it had been old mare that raised her on stories and endless answers to her endless questions. She smiles fondly to recall it now; and this too, a story being told. Then; more hesitation but she is a patient mare.
“I know him,” she says; Raven, keeper of secrets - even one of his. “It is not for us to know but to learn and only then, do we know what we know. It seems silly and convoluted - perhaps it is but that seems to be the way of it.” She plants a gentle kiss on that same brow her lips had touched only moments earlier and smiles at Oceantree. “You must confront your fear little one (a term of endearment) and you must tell him that you are his daughter. This is the lesson you must learn in order to understand that fear can be overcome.”
ooc: is that an acceptable objective for her? to confront her fear and reveal to Kale that she is his daughter? :]
