He is delighted to see Yehl. He has been here the longest now and he was almost beginning to get restless at the thought that he was responsible for having his teachers up and leave. He is pleasantly surprised to see that Yehl sports a not dissimilar pattern to himself. His dark lemon coloured patches standing out against the white that covers the majority of his body, surprisingly clean for this time of the day - but then again he is meeting his new teacher for the first time and Gecko does like to make a good impression.
He laughs at her words, for Gecko is almost always in high spirits, though at present he believes it to be largely due to his daughter Ianthe's presence. Her telling of stories of dandelions and daisies, coming home with tales of a new found friend or a new delight discovered - it is largely what keeps him young. He is of course much older than he looks but he figures the general haphazard way in which he is put together contributes to many being unaware of his numbering years. "Indeed my dear, a bit of good bouncing does that to me. Though I am perhaps more so than usual today, I was recalling memories of my children after something my daughter did this morning." From his tone it is easy to assume that Gecko's world largely revolves around his children, he is not sure what he would have done without them. He would not have recovered to his chirpy bouncy self after loosing so many over the years including his beloved Illuiette.
He takes a brief moment to just regard Yehl, taking an instant liking to her after seeing her glorious smile covering her face and the way she moved to touch his shoulder, tracing the shapes of his colouring. It is something that Gecko himself has done to others and wonders if it is a paint thing or just something the two of them share. He remembers asking Saphira a similar question about paints sun burning and realising that was apparently something that was unique to him. He grins at her as his dark eyes watch her slim nose tracing his body before she speaks again. Her query makes him think briefly. It is not a difficult question but he does wonder exactly what to tell her.
His time within the Academy is not particularly interesting; he met Durden who then left, then he met Giovanna who also then left. He'd enjoyed speaking with Fei before she left and finally he comes to speak with Yehl. His time among the elements is also perhaps not the most interesting tale to speak of. "There's not much to tell really. Previously had two teachers, both left before anything was really discussed; I still miss Fei and her birds. I'm a peacekeeper in Solira; I had a brief absence wherein I had Ianthe. What you see is rather what you get these days with me." He chuckles, for there was a time in his younger days when Gecko was not a scholar, more skilled in the art and deception of espionage but the life of a scholar remains the most suited to him. The paint is indeed a social butterfly, never bored as long as there's someone new to speak with, something new to discover or learn and at the moment having Ianthe around satisfies the 'something new' for him. His smile remains, as he shakes his head, his mane resolutely returning to its stuck up mohawk style causing him to sigh amused at his inability to tame it, before he speaks again, calmer than before, as if musing aloud rather than to Yehl specifically, as if the thought has only just occurred to the paint stallion. "I've come a long way to get back to where I was before..."
