The Academy: earth and sea

She turns her head quickly to locate the origin of the voice. It hadn't actually been a frightening sound as the mare seemed very nice, but the sound itself startled her a bit. It was strange to hear sound in this place. It seemed so abandoned.

It was so lonely.

If only she knew and could tell the mare she was not paint by choice. Beneath the pale colored blotches her skin was scared and burned. Alas, it would be a secret to only her in most cases.

As the mare pressed her muzzle into her cool skin she sighed. It was a content sound really. She thought of the mare's question. Did she really know? "I think...maybe because I am just supposed to be here. To learn. So that I can help others someday." The answer just sort of came from no where. She doubted it was right, but then again she doubted the question really had a right or wrong answer. Surly others came here for different reasons.

She had a feeling the mare already knew her name, so she didn't give it. And for some strange reason she knew who this mare was. "You are Yehl, aren't you? They sent me to you." She left off the part where she didn't know who that was at first, which is why she hadn't looked for her openly. "I suppose you may want to know more about me?" Her questioning gaze didn't fall, but she went ahead and started anyway. I was born in Andarin and for the longest time I couldn't remember who my parents were. When I was stolen to the desert I was pretty upset. I missed the people in Andarin. But when the time came to finally go home I couldn't help but feel bad for leaving Ni'Srilan. When Fei left I realized I belonged back in the desert with Icarus and Rook." She didn't really understand yet that most people didn't understand that relationship. Which is why she didn't explain it. "I have lived there ever since." So that was a boring story. She gave a weak smile anyway. She didn't really know what the mare wanted to know about her so I guess it is better to start with the basics.
