He came because he heard his name on the wind, calling him here - knows this means he has been assigned a teacher and so he comes with his usual amount of bounce and smiles. On the surface, he appeared to be the antithesis of everything the Academy stood for. He is not serene or calm or quiet; Gecko generally makes his presence known when he arrives somewhere. For a start it is difficult to not notice the small skewbald stallion. His colouring and size make him unusual, then factor in his often wild appearance and it is hardly surprising he is usually spotted fairly quickly. He is older than he appears to be and yet he is perfectly capable of maintaining sensible thought and motions when it is demanded - he just doesn't always see the need to be serious and boring like the majority of the others he sees around him.
He has just journeyed to the glade to enquire after the vipers and Hypatia and so when he arrives at the Academy he is still clean and presentable. He had thought about joining the vipers when he had discovered their fire Oracle was going to be leading the new nation but he enjoyed the refreshing cool water that the reef provided too much to return to a desert nation once again. For now he is content living in Solira.
He bounces slightly on the spot, his mane but ever so resolutely returning to its mohawk state (a permanent reminder of the Ravens). He calls out to his given teacher once, "Durden?" before he relaxes, allowing the sunshine to warm his back whilst he waits for Durden to make himself known to him. His dark eyes take in the surroundings of the Academy, bouncing ever so slightly from side to side feeling the grass beneath his feet and relishing the change from sand.
