Hypatia marvels out how his Air does not flee from her. Perhaps it is because of the controller, who may be tiring himself out by pushing his Air against is weakness. Or perhaps because he simply doesn’t care, neither does his Air. Does the Elemental hierarchy break down at some point? Hypatia wonders for a moment, until Durden’s words break her reverie.
“Just as I won’t be able to lie to you soon.” Of course, he is not an Apprentice yet, and he will not be able to read her thoughts until he is a Seer. Hypatia smiles at him, warm and silly. “But I am sure even the darkest of places can be seen with enough light.” Hypatia may have to dig a little, use a little power, a little force, but she is certain she could detect a lie from it all simple enough. Especially against her Strength.
Durden speaks, and Hypatia wonders why he is so adamant that he is normal, regular. Her Father taught her that she was special, different from a very young age. And perhaps it is that brainwashing as a child, but Hypatia believes it wholeheartedly, and Durden would never change that. “I am Fire. And you are Air. That makes us different.” She steps towards him and the light in her eyes and on her body grows. It fills her with passion. “We are different from one another in our ability, in our beliefs, in our control. In our Gifts from the Element.” For Hypatia does not control her Fire like Requiem did. Nor does Durden control his Air like Pirate does. “The Element begs for difference.” She turns then from him.
The Irish stallion speaks again, and Hypatia lets a smirk come over her features while her back is turned to him. Slowly, she turns, and the intensity of the light in her eyes make it seem like the sun is held within her iris’s. “You are a student: of course I am nothing but honest with you.” She sighs after him and shifts her weight.
“The Elements are all around us, as you can see, and what you should now feel. There is the beginning here, and all the past around us. We just need to look for it.” Hypatia’s smile has widened, and the glow of her Fire is from the thought of all that knowledge. It burns her. “What have you learned from the Elements themselves? What have you come to see, to feel?”
