It was an old saying, a mantra repeated on the lips of those who wish to pin knowledge on some unseen being: "the wind whispered it to me". But Pirate has come to know the wind like few others here at the Element, and although he has not unlocked all of it's secrets - could such a feat ever be accomplished? - Pirate has come to know that when the wind wishes to tell you something, or guide you somewhere, it does not whisper but screams, and you have no choice but to follow it. The wind screamed at Pirate that day, and although he was one to kick up breezes throughout the day and have them swirling about his ankles and mane and tail, even the chestnut stallion was forced to quell the wind (lest he be faced with a twister-like gale).
The wind obviously wanted him to go somewhere that day, and so Pirate followed it until it led him to the quaintly rustic scene of the Academy. He knows his wind, and the chestnut could tell that he was to meet his second student that day, simply because for what other reason would the wind drag him here so violently? As he passes bushes and trees mice scurry from the sanctuary of the undergrowth, disturbed by the storm-like gales. Pirate disciplines himself even further and is excited when he finally sees the face of his second student and his wind ceases its demands.
"Ceridwan," he says, dipping his head in greeting to her as well. Unlike Electra, she smells of the sea and Pirate feels an immediate affinity with her. His mind, ever curious, slids gently into hers, taking care to cause no sensation of the entry. Pirate hardly realizes it when he uses his power and he draws back when the first waves of Ceridwan's conscious wash over him. "How can I help you?" Pirate asks this because he feels some of the torrent within her, and yet he does not specify this aloud; he lets Ceridwan interpret his question herself, let her decide what he means.
