Posted by lvl i pirate on May 23, 2008, 3:07 pm, in reply to "we two alone will sing like birds in the cage; Pirate" Pirate comes, as always, followed closely by his wind; the gale swirls around him, upsetting his mane and tail and they dance like fire about his chestnut coat. Leaves are stirred from the trees and mice from the bushes as the grass rippled like a wave before him. Pirate does not have a tendency of theatrics, and does not intend to dramatize his entrance into the Academy in any way. It is merely a show of a lack of discipline, for Pirate cannot bring himself to quell his desire to play with the wind.

Perhaps it is a blessing, however, the dramatics of the wind; for Pirate is a tiny stallion, although a bright chestnut, and could easily be overlooked if it were not for the gale that lends him a presence. He does not think of this, however, as the chestnut enters the Academy and walks serenly past ruins and decaying walls. He sees Electra and lets his mind wander into hers, not in an invasive way, but gently, and certainly without her knowledge.
He feels her pride in the Range and understands, somewhat. His nationalism did not stem from pride in the accomplishments of the Reef as a kingdom, but simply from a love of the land and the horses that inhabit it. Surely, should Pirate be given the chance to visit the Range, he would come to love it just the same.
"Electra, welcome," he says, smiling at his student. A moment goes by in which Pirate walks with her, content in letting the silence grow between them. Eventually he says, "What do you wish to learn, Electra?" Pirate does have the ability to pry into her mind for these answers, however, it is always more fruitful to ask them, and hear his pupil's answers.
