for even to think wrongly
is better than not to think at all."
Stories are always incomplete. However much they can touch us deep down in our souls, as much as we think we know what’s going to happen, no story ever truly has an ending. What of this person? What of that? Did they end up happily ever after? And what of Hypatia’s story now? How will it end up with Antiope? Will they become enemies, or will Hypatia do her duty, do what she’s always wanted to do?
We’ll just have to wait and see. The story hasn’t quite begun yet. They’re just moving into Chapter 2.
This is Antiope’s new story. Her old one has closed its chapters, the words flying away, leaving questions in the air. Maybe her questions will be found here. Maybe that is why she came here in the first place. So Antiope’s second book is just beginning, and Hypatia is the newest character to be introduced.
Hypatia is glad that the other does not move away from her fire, but is drawn towards it. She has met many lately who look at her fire with fear, or at least with hesitancy. She does not want to be seen as anything bad. She can control her fire. It flicks through the air, taking it away from the wind as it teased back. The air here could not control her fire, but because it was bred from the Elements itself, it had a fight in it. Hypatia watched it as Antiope did.
The mare looked older, seasoned, and Hypatia could see that a scholar was not her usual path. But she says nothing for now, nodding instead when Antiope speaks of the future. The future is their greatest hope, their greatest love. It is what the scholars live for. Silence passes over them, as Hypatia stares through Antiope and into the others mind, just a surface glimpse, so she knows the student she is taking on. Hypatia thinks she can do well; at least, she feels like she can. “I am a teacher here, though not the only one. I hope you speak with the others. Kale, Magnolia, Fei, to name a few.” Hypatia liked her other scholars, her other teachers. “But you are not used to the way of the scholar, are you? What makes you want to learn now? I want to be a good teacher for you.” Her eyes twinkle with her fire and the deep sincerity on her face. Hypatia hopes that she will not fail her new student.
[ooc//so I think I know what I’d like for her task to be. I’ll say it in a post, but I would guess you want to get started on it, yes? Her task will be to find out a personal fact from 3 stallions and become friends with at least 1 of them. Is that too hard? Too easy? Good? ^___^]
