“mos nunquam operor quisquam huic universitas vacuus virtus. Is est maioribus species of mens tunc ut veneratio"
There were now days with Nicodemus as well. Perhaps it was the withering of his clan that has brought him to this, or perhaps it was the leaving of his younger brother. Nonetheless, the fire inside of him was forming something destructive. It was hungry, and I don’t think many could assuage it. Nicodemus at times felt a rather nefarious longing inside of him, something that Hawthorne and Skylar could not fulfill. I do not think I can call it savage or murderous. Perhaps it was mental abuse. And yet mental abuse could be just as bad as physical, don’t you think? Nicodemus tells this to no one, and I doubt if he will let this…feeling escape.
He was different, so much different than when he had first arrived. He had been reborn, just as Caoimhe had been many times before now. Now he was not a simple equine who ran with the eagles. Now he had been reborn of fire and ash, his mane smoldering and dancing. The element had taken him in a warm embrace, and Nicodemus had accepted it, cherished it even. Now they stood together, air and fire, both changed by the elements. He melts the snow that falls about them. Arrakis had called him captivating once upon a time. And now I must provide testament to it. He seems to be at his most stunning in the winter times. He is too red to blend nonchalantly against it, and Caoimhe adds to his brightness. They defy all that stands for the pale coldness of winter. They refuse to be so monochrome as the white dress that nature had now put on. Nicodemus resents the winter for it’s blandness. He missed the autumn and it’s beautiful vibrancy. Then he could simply blend with his surroundings and not seem so beautiful.
But Wyvern held him close now. Nicodemus nods in simple acknowledgement at his words, and Caoimhe watches him with a wary intelligent eye. She takes to flight at Nicodemus’ mental request, hovering above them and watching for intruders. But it was not for long, for Nicodemus had called her for another reason, and the bird began to sing, her calls melodious and charming all in one. She dives sharply, colliding into the ground to form a massive wall of flames around them. Phoenix Song, it was called.
Nicodemus smiles at Wyvern with the knowing that he would find the spectacle rather intriguing. “Well?” His smile widens as he relaxes his posture. In order to learn, one must ask, and Nicodemus was waiting ever so patiently.
