“mos nunquam operor quisquam huic universitas vacuus virtus. Is est maioribus species of mens tunc ut veneratio"
Nicodemus had known rage only once. Rage that a being could be so heartless as to break the heart of his own innocent blood. But other than that rage, he had known only pain. He wasn’t one for vengeance or spite, and so he laments things more than tries to get back. He laments his lies to his half-brother. So much had gone wrong. So much still needed to be said. But Nicodemus didn't mean for it to end this way. Not with Requiem, not with his own blood. They would have called him a coward in his old clan. But they wouldn't have understood. Nicodemus had beheld the awful sight. He had known from the beginning of this Element who Requiem was. Nicodemus remembered it all to vividly, and yet he wanted to shield him. That was all the red wanted, for Requiem to not see what had happened. He felt that it would have been for the better. But the truth always resurfaces. My stallion saw her killed, saw the King's brother slaughter their beloved and beautiful mother. He had been only a child in those days, and he did what he in his youthful mind thought best....he ran. The colt ran far away, and he had no intentions of ever returning. Let Requiem become King, for the young Nicodemus had no desire of it. Plus, he would have killed him. He saw Nicodemus there watching the murder. The stallion would have found him and killed him. He was afraid.
But that was a long time ago, and they were secrets he had spilled. He only wished he could have been more brave.
But he makes his way to the academy with purpose. There was something that he had started and left undone. Something and someone he sought. Wyvern. Who knew if the stallion had been waiting for him, who knew if he had just arrived. But he arrives at the academy with due haste to find the golden Jaeger awaiting him. He steps lightly, finding the side of the stallion. Caoimhe greets him with a warm rustle of her fire-feathers. “Are you ready to learn, Wyvern?”
